In August, SE Director Todd Lyons visited the SE factory in Taiwan and provided an awesome look at how SE bikes are assembled. Seeing the process is amazing!

The first thing that happens when a frame comes down to the assembly line is the addition of rear brakes and adding the protective sleeves to the top tube and down tube.

After the cups are pressed into the frame, then the frame is ready for the crankset and Landing Gear forks to be added.

Look at all those wheelsets! Stacks on racks! These were getting assembled onto the Stealth Mode Black/Purple Big Flyer.

Parts, parts, and more PARTS! Did you know that there are over 50 different parts needed to build a complete bike? And to break it down even more, those 50+ parts consist of over 250 pieces! For each and every bike we make, all of these parts are professionally assembled before the bike is boxed up and shipped out.

The next step in the assembly process is the addition of the chain, rear wheel, handlebars, and stem. And you can’t forget about the small parts box that securely holds the pedals, pegs, alloy valve cap, owner’s manual, and other small things. What you can’t see in these photos is the very detailed process of securing the frame, fork, and parts together before everything is placed into the bike box.

Once everything has been added, the box is sealed up and sent to one of our distribution centers around the world.

After years of detailed research, Todd Lyons found that trucking companies and package carriers take better care of flat-screen TVs than they do bikes. So a bike box update was in order for the new bikes!
